  SPARSE broke well and settled towards the back of the field while two wide around the first turn. He dropped further back down the backstretch as he trailed by 24 and 3/4 lengths. Michael Baze, filling in for a sick Inez Karlsson, commenced his rally heading into the second turn. SPARSE split horse late in the turn and angled out towards the middle of the stretch where he finished with a swift rally while running out of stretch to catch the winner, Malibu Vice, as he finished 2nd, defeated by 1/2 length.

  GHOSTWALKING broke well and angled to the rail to secure the lead heading into the first turn. He continued to lead down the backstretch as he led by half a length over a couple of rivals. GHOSTWALKING maintained the lead until late in the turn, but he lacked the needed finish down the stretch as he faded to 5th, defeated by 3 3/4 lengths.

  MYSTIC settled off a swift pace and was caught three wide around the first turn. He trailed the pacesetters by 8 lengths down the backstretch while in the three path. Leparoux kept him three wide around the second turn as he commenced his rally. He vied for the lead at the top of the stretch, but flattened out as he was overtaken by the winner to run 4th, defeated by 3 1/2 lengths. The chart for the race is attached.
