  STRONG COMMITMENT broke well and settled five lengths off the pace while caught three wide around the first turn. He maintained that position in the three path down the backstretch until Leparoux sent him four wide around the second turn. He put forth a mild rally late in the stretch, but was no match for the winner, who set pedestrian fractions on the front end, as STRONG COMMITMENT finished 4th, defeated by 8 1/2 lengths.

  STRIKEWHILEITSHOT broke well and settled into a good stalking position on the rail five lengths off the pace. Spieth angled STRIKEWHILEITSHOT to the three path and made a middle move down the backstretch into a swift pace as he secured the lead heading into the second turn while three wide. STRIKEWHILEITSHOT led at the top of the stretch, but flattened out down the lane and could not match strides with the winner, who came through to his inside on the rail, while being nosed out for second at the wire. STRIKEWHILEITSHOT finished 3rd, defeated by two lengths.

Goncalves moved him off the rail into the two path prior to the second turn. STRIKEWHILEITSHOT battled two wide between horses to secure the lead in midstretch by a length and he gamely held sway the last furlong to win by one.

  STRONG COMMITMENT broke out at the start and instead of securing a stalking position a few lengths off the pace as planned, Marquez decided to keep STRONG COMMITMENT at the back of the field putting him twelve lengths off a very moderate pace. He held that position down the backstretch commencing his rally into the 2nd turn as he closed swiftly from eleven lengths back, but he could not get to the winner finishing 5th, defeated by 1 3/4 lengths.
