9/5: MYSTIC runs 4th
MYSTIC settled off a swift pace and was caught three wide around the first turn. He trailed the pacesetters by 8 lengths down the backstretch while in the three path. Leparoux kept him three wide around the second turn as he commenced his rally. He vied for the lead at the top of the stretch, but flattened out as he was overtaken by the winner to run 4th, defeated by 3 1/2 lengths. The chart for the race is attached.

8/7: MYSTIC wins!!
MYSTIC broke well and settled into a good stalking position in 6th, just over three lengths off the pace. He was caught two wide around the first turn and Desormeaux kept him in the two path down the backstretch. He inched up approaching the second turn as Desormeaux angled him out for a four wide sweeping move around the turn. MYSTIC secured the lead in midstretch by one length and he held sway to win nicely by that margin.
