6/24: SMART MANEUVER runs 3rd and is claimed
SMART MANEUVER settled into a stalking position five lengths off a modest pace. He gradually made up ground approaching the turn, but was bumped by the eventual winner, Person of Interest, and had to steady midway around the turn. Maragh waited for room and angled SMART MANEUVER out to the three path where he finished evenly down the stretch to run third, defeated by 6 1/4 lengths. SMART MANEUVER was claimed by trainer Robert Barbara for the $50k claiming tag.

SMART MANEUVER settled seven lengths off the pace while two wide as a runoff Homestead Strike quickly opened up on the field by six lengths. He held that position around the second turn with a mild rally, but could not quicken with the closers down the stretch as he finished third, beaten by 3 1/2 lengths.

SMART MANEUVER broke well and was caught two wide into the first turn while settling into a good stalking position about four lengths off the pace down the backstretch. SMART MANEUVER made a gradual move on the rail into the 2nd turn, but could not catch the wire to wire winner down the stretch finishing second, defeated by two lengths.
